Building a Future Fit Organisation

Our Journey with SG Carbon Services
At Ategi, our commitment to becoming a future fit organisation is more than a strategic ambition—it’s a responsibility we embrace wholeheartedly. As part of our ongoing sustainability journey, we’ve partnered with SG Carbon Services to deepen our understanding of our environmental impact and to take meaningful steps toward reducing our carbon footprint.
A Strategic Partnership for Sustainability
In December 2024, we began working with Guy Martin and Sam Halling from SG Carbon Services to develop a comprehensive carbon reduction strategy tailored to our operations. Their proposal laid out a clear roadmap: conduct a full Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory, identify our largest sources of emissions, and translate these insights into practical, bite-sized goals that engage our entire team
From Data to Action: The Carbon Reduction Roadmap
Our roadmap, aligned with Ategi’s “Your Life, Your Way” strategy, is already delivering results. We’ve completed a baseline carbon audit, implemented a strategic reduction plan, and introduced flexible working policies to reduce transport emissions
We’re also investing in energy efficiency at our head office, including transitioning to LED lighting and exploring solar panel installation.
Empowering Our People: The Workshop Experience
A recent highlight was the carbon awareness and goal-setting workshop delivered by Guy and Sam. Held on 15 May 2025, the session was well attended both in person and online, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive
The workshop covered the science of climate change, debunked common myths, and explored how climate change is affecting Wales. It also provided a platform for staff to contribute ideas on biodiversity and carbon reduction
An interactive Miro board exercise helped us categorise our ideas into “Quick Wins,” “Financial Challenges,” and “Aspirations,” making it easier to prioritise and act
The energy and engagement from our team was inspiring, and it’s clear that sustainability is a shared value across Ategi.
Looking Ahead: Climate Champions and Continued Investment
We’re now developing a Climate Champions group to maintain momentum and ensure accountability. This group will meet quarterly to monitor progress, share knowledge, and support the implementation of our environmental policies
Our collaboration with SG Carbon Services has not only provided technical expertise but also energised our team and reinforced our commitment to a sustainable future. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made—and even more excited about what’s to come.

At Ategi, our commitment to becoming a future fit organisation is more than a strategic ambition—it’s a responsibility we embrace wholeheartedly.
