Shared Lives Event at The Meadows Wildlife Park
Ategi recently hosted a special Shared Lives Week event at The Meadows Wildlife Park near Cardiff. The gathering brought together people we support from our Shared Lives, Community Support, and Supported Living services, along with their families, friends, Shared Lives carers, and volunteers from our Support Circles.
Despite the rainy weather, spirits remained high as everyone explored the park, enjoying close encounters with goats, llamas, alpacas, chickens, ducks, and more.
After the walk around the park, guests gathered in a marquee for a sociable lunch, offering a chance to connect and share stories. In the afternoon, Multi-sport Social Health & Wellbeing C.I.C led a series of inclusive activities including Zumba, seated pilates and Boccia – encouraging movement, laughter, and participation from all ages and abilities.
The day was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the relationships that make Shared Lives so unique, and to recognise the vital role carers and supporters play in enabling people to live full, connected lives.
We’re proud to be part of #WeAreSharedLives — a movement that challenges perceptions, builds community and opens doors to new possibilities.
