Ty Cornel garden: A blossoming haven in full bloom

Last November, residents and staff at Ty Cornel came together to celebrate a transformation of their garden, made possible by the generous support of the Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust. What was once an overlooked, dull space has evolved into a vibrant, peaceful haven, and now, as we reach the end of spring and the start of summer 2025, it’s truly flourishing.

The garden, revitalised with comfortable new furniture, a cosy fire pit, a calming water feature, and an array of plants and ornaments, has become a year-round retreat. This season, the wildflowers planted by residents are thriving, adding bursts of colour to enjoy. The hard work of everyone involved from securing the funding to adding the final touches has turned a bland area into a tranquil, colourful space that strengthens community bonds and boosts well-being. Residents are embracing the garden more than ever.

This transformation has also strengthened the team at Ty Cornel, nurturing a sense of unity as they’ve worked together to create the space. The garden’s calming water feature adds a soothing backdrop, while the carefully chosen plants and furniture create a welcoming atmosphere. Residents and staff alike enjoy relaxing under the big umbrella, admiring the wildflowers that now flourish, turning a once-dull area into a vibrant retreat where everyone feels connected.

This transformation is a testament to the dedication of the Ty Cornel community. A huge thank you to the Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust and everyone who helped make this flourishing garden a reality.

"I have really enjoyed planting the wildflowers and vegetables. It was so rewarding to cook and eat our very own grown vegetables. I love sitting in the garden now. It is really transformed." - Zahid
