ategi’s services (Shared Lives, Visiting Support and Supported Living) support adults with needs to live their lives their way, by helping them to live independent fulfilled lives.  

Our trustees are at the heart of delivering our mission, vision and values. They provide support to our committed staff team and our network of amazing independent Shared Lives carers as well as the many people we support.

We operate across the UK and our Head Office is based in Wales, from where our charity began over 25 years ago.

The services we provide:

Shared Lives – Our approved and trained Shared Lives carers offer accommodation and support within their own homes to adults with support needs who prefer to live in a family environment. Our carers can provide support during the day, for a short break or a permanent live-in arrangement, it’s flexible to the needs of the carer and the adult they support.

Supported Living – Our trained staff support adults with support needs to live in their own homes and in the community. Our Supported Living team encourage the adults they support to live full meaningful lives whilst supporting them to be as independent as possible

Visiting Support – Our trained staff support adults with support needs in the community to access leisure and occupational activities whilst encouraging increased independence in line with agreed support plans

We take great pride in the work we do and we’re always looking for ways to improve. 2020 was a landmark year as COVID-19 has challenged all of our working practices, both for how we support clients, but also for the way that we work together and support each other.

We are poised now to embrace a different future from what we might have envisaged.  We are ready for change and excited to be embarking on a journey of growth.  We are seeking new trustees to complement the skills of our other Trustee Committee members and support us in taking ategi into the future.

Our trustee group has to reflect the diversity of the people we support and the communities in which we work, and we welcome and encourage applicants from all backgrounds.

Duties include:

  • Managing the charity’s resources responsibly
  • Ensuring the charity is accountable
  • Ensuring the charity is carrying out its purposes legally and for the public benefit

Who are we looking for?

As well as a shared commitment to our vision we are specifically seeking trustees with; 

  • Commercial experience including business development, stakeholder engagement or fundraising in the 3rd sector, in particular, social care
  • Experience of marketing, communications and PR
  • Quality assurance
  • HR and Organisational Development experience at a strategic level
  • Digital strategic development
