Ategi joins Big Cardiff Tidy campaign with first litter pick in Cardiff Bay
The Big Cardiff Tidy campaign returned this autumn – and Ategi was proud to be part of the very first litter pick on Friday 26 September 2025.
The city-wide clean-up, organised by Keep Wales Tidy, Cardiff Council's, Love Where You Live campaign, and The Cardiff Rivers Group, runs from 26 September to 12 October, bringing communities together to make Cardiff cleaner and greener.
The launch event took place in Cardiff Bay, where more than 40 volunteers came together, including organisations such as the Innovate Trust, Cardiff City Council, Cardiff Rivers Group, and Keep Cardiff Tidy. Ategi staff joined in too – alongside Rob, who is supported through our Shared Lives services.
Rob threw himself into the challenge and managed to fill a bag and a half of litter. He was thrilled with his contribution, telling us how much he enjoyed taking part:
I love litter picking!
The event was a great success, with participants working together to clear rubbish and protect local wildlife. It marked just the beginning of two weeks of activities, with events planned in every ward of Cardiff – from St Mellons to Splott, Llandaff to Llanishen.
The Big Cardiff Tidy is a chance for everyone to get involved and make a difference in their community. Whether it’s joining a Litter Picking Hub, helping with a River Taff clean-up, or meeting up with one of Cardiff’s Litter Champions, there’s an opportunity for everyone to take part.
