Ategi Trustee Connect Day: Getting to know us

In January 2026, we held our annual Trustee Connect Day at Bryngarw House – bringing together Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team to meet, reflect and spend time with people supported by Ategi.

This year’s event had a special focus on welcoming new trustees to the organisation. We were pleased to introduce our 5 newly appointed trustees: Dan, Ruth, Stacey, Anel and Edith, who joined existing trustees for their first opportunity to meet colleagues and people supported by Ategi in person.

Alongside trustee discussions about the year ahead, the day created space for informal conversations over tea and cake. People involved in our Support Circles attended, including Matthew, who coordinates the service, and volunteers who help plan and take part in trips and activities. Fran from our team, with Ruksanna, who is supported through our community support service, also joined the day and spent time talking with trustees and staff.

These moments of connection are an important part of Trustee Connect Day, helping trustees understand not only the strategy and governance of the organisation, but also the everyday experiences of people who use Ategi’s services.

The photographs from the day were taken by Catrin, who we support through Shared Lives in Cardiff and is employed by Ategi as a freelance photographer. This was Catrin’s first official shoot for Ategi – she did an amazing job! She spent the afternoon capturing the atmosphere of the day while also catching up with familiar faces and meeting the new trustees.

Trustee Connect Day is held each year to strengthen relationships across the organisation and ensure that the voices and experiences of people supported by Ategi remain central to future planning.
