Syeda & Mohiz
Shared Lives - Slough
The progress has been remarkable. Over time, Mohiz has developed essential life skills: he prepares his own lunch, maintains his room, and follows a hygiene routine independently. Syeda credits much of this growth to the supportive environment created by her family. “My husband and kids are very attached to him. They talk to him, involve him in everyday activities, and encourage him to learn new things.”
The close relationship between Mohiz and Syeda’s husband has been particularly special. “They spend a lot of time together, whether it’s grocery shopping or visiting friends. Mohiz even chats with my husband’s friends on the phone—he’s part of our family.”
Mohiz’s interests have evolved over time. From an early fascination with household machinery to an enthusiasm for cartoons and college life, his world has expanded significantly. He’s also making friends at college and thriving academically, especially in English and maths. “He’s getting very good reports,”
While every journey has it's challenges, Syeda reflects on the positive changes with immense pride.
Syeda and Mohiz’s story shows us how Shared Lives is not just about providing care—it’s about creating meaningful connections and nurturing growth.
