Fundraising concert raises £520.20 for Ategi!
Ategi is delighted to announce that the Thornbury Orchestra fundraising concert raised a fantastic £520.20 for Ategi!
Following meeting one of our Shared Lives team at an event, the Thornbury Orchestra kindly offered to host a fundraising concert for Ategi. On Saturday 10th June, Ategi staff came along to the concert to prepare canapes and drinks for all the orchestra and audience. We even had Shared Lives carer, Grazelda, and the lady she supports, Wendy, come along and support us in getting everything ready. As well as refreshments, we also had a raffle on offer to tempt audience members with some great prizes, we also offered handmade elderflower and rose mocktails prepared by one Ategi's staff!
It was a fantastic concert, the orchestra performed music from Beethoven, Grieg and Verdi. It was a doubley special day because not only was it Sheleagh Llewellyn's (Ategi's Fundraising Manager) birthday but she was also celebrating the birth of her first grandchild that day! The orchestra helped her celebrate by performing an impromptu rendition of happy birthday for her.
Community fundraising is vital for small charities like Ategi because it creates a powerful ripple effect of positive change. By rallying together, we can make a significant impact on causes that matter to us. It fosters a sense of unity, allowing us to support local initiatives and directly improve our community. Moreover, it provides an avenue for everyone to contribute, regardless of financial capacity, fostering inclusivity. Together, we can achieve extraordinary things and bring hope, support, and opportunities to those in need. A massive thank you to the Thornbury Orchestra for creating this fantastic fundraising opportunity for Ategi and giving us the chance to spread the word about the incredible work our Shared Lives team do. Also a huge thanks to the dedicated Ategi team who made it possible and our Shared Lives carer, Grazelda and Wendy for coming out to support us!
