National Safeguarding Week 2022

The 14th-18th November is National Safeguarding Week 2022!

The aim of Safeguarding Week is to raise awareness about safeguarding because everyone has a role to play in keeping people safe from harm.

Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults from abuse or neglect and educating those around them to recognise the signs and dangers.

Safeguarding should be a priority for all organisations, voluntary, statutory and charities, especially those that work with children, young people and adults at risk.

Good and appropriate safeguarding provides public reassurance about organisations and contributes to the positive reputation of the sector in general.

The whole week is jam-packed full of meetings, webinars and activities across each safeguarding board area with the aim of raising awareness of safeguarding and sharing best practices.

Next week is National Safeguarding Adults Week which will focus on the theme 'Responding to Contemporary Safeguarding Challenges'.
