Anel-Mari Penrold

Trustee

Anel-Mari has worked in Human Resources for 17 years, spending the majority of her career within the private equity sector. During this time, she has gained experience across a diverse range of industries, including higher education, technology, aviation and hospitality. This breadth of experience has given her a deep understanding of the relationship between people, culture and organisational systems, while strengthening her commitment to creating environments where individuals can thrive.

In mid-2025, Anel-Mari made a deliberate decision to transition from the private sector into the public and not-for-profit space. As she has grown both personally and professionally, she has become increasingly aware that her values align most closely with organisations driven by social purpose, equity and community impact. This move has enabled her to apply her HR expertise in settings where the focus extends beyond organisational performance to improving lives and strengthening communities.

Outside of work, Anel-Mari enjoys spending time with her four dogs, who ensure life is never dull. She is also an avid reader of thrillers, enjoys building Lego, and is committed to continuous professional development. Her current academic pursuit is an MSc in Social and Organisational Psychology, reflecting her ongoing interest in the charity sector and the evolving world of HR practice.

As a trustee of Ategi, Anel-Mari hopes to make a meaningful contribution to the wellbeing and enrichment of the individuals and families who rely on the organisation’s services. She brings a strong sense of social justice, a commitment to fairness, and a belief in the power of supportive relationships.

Through her experience and values, Anel-Mari aims to support Ategi in continuing its important work, helping individuals and families to live independent, fulfilling lives.
