Edith Potter
Trustee
Edith Potter is an experienced senior leader with a strong background in social care, housing, community services, and organisational development. Throughout her career, she has worked in roles focused on helping people live independently, safely, and with dignity, while supporting organisations to grow, improve quality, and deliver excellent services. Her experience spans supported living, Shared Lives, older people’s services, employment support, and care technology, providing her with a broad understanding of the needs of people receiving support, carers, frontline teams, and commissioning partners.
Edith has particular expertise in safeguarding, service quality, staff leadership, partnership working, and developing new opportunities that create positive outcomes for people and communities. She is passionate about ensuring the voices of people receiving support, carers, families, and staff are heard and reflected in decision-making. She believes the best services are built on trust, compassion, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to helping people thrive.
Having previously worked within Ategi, Edith understands the importance of creating opportunities for people to live fulfilled lives with choice, independence, and belonging. As a Trustee, she is proud to support the organisation’s future growth, strong governance, workforce development, and continued reputation for person-centred support. She is equally committed to ensuring Shared Lives carers feel valued and supported, while commissioners can have confidence in safe, high-quality, and sustainable services.
Edith is often described as warm, practical, and energetic, with a positive approach to problem-solving and bringing people together. She values honesty, kindness, and making a real difference.
Outside of work, Edith enjoys spending time with her family, keeping active, travelling, and exploring new places. On weekends, she particularly enjoys long walks, good food, and relaxing with family and friends.
